Thank you for your interest in a position as an Orientation Leader (OL) at Marist College. OLs work as part of the team that helps students and their families in their transition to Marist. It is a unique experience that provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to make lasting connections while building a portfolio of important career skills.

What is an Orientation Leader?

Orientation Leaders, known as OLs, are students leaders who are trained to help introduce new members of the Marist community to the various programs, services, and opportunities that make a Marist education distinctive. 

What qualities are you looking for in an Orientation Leader?

While there is no set list of traits that combine to make the perfect OL, there are some qualities we do look for: hard working, outgoing, a leader, team player, positive, energetic and most of all, dedicated to Marist.

Who is eligible to be an Orientation Leader?

All students in good standing are invited to apply to be an OL. Each candidate's submitted student profile is looked at on an individual basis to determine his/her fit with the current Orientation team.

What dates does an Orientation Leader have to work?

Training for OLs will be held on Monday, May 28 through Wednesday, May 30. Orientation is held in two sessions (session one is held Thursday, May 31st  - Sunday, June 3; session two is held Saturday, June 9 - Tuesday, June 12). OLs should be available for the entire span of the program. 

Is housing provided?

Yes, on campus housing for OLs is provided, as well as three meals a day during the duration of the program.

Is it a paid position?

Yes, OLs are paid a modest stipend in return for their work during the program.
